claude discussing art
and very happy..
Just 2 weeks after Art Melbourne I exhibited in another 4 day art event organised by MCM House in Sydney. (May 6th -9th). I managed to create just one more of the large works on paper for this show (which sold very quickly on opening night!) and exhibited sculptures, screenprints and some of my little hybrid drawings. The Vernissage was quite an event conducted in two massive warehouse spaces in Waterloo. Both spaces were full of mostly large artworks by emerging and established artist and hundreds of people flowed through looking, discussing, and happily buying works. There was a dj line up and a colourful bar set up with a variety of free beverages, including flavoured vodkas in pretty bottles. They also had live t-shirt screen printing and were giving these away to guest. Bills restaurant had set up a food bar and were offering tasty sandwiches on the house. All in all it was the most exciting art opening I have ever been to and to top it off i sold almost all the work i had on display. The organisers are very pleased with the results and there has been talk of doing it again in Brisbane this year. Fingers crossed!
