I mentioned the beast of burden image inspiring a sculpture and thought i would post a shot of the beast part – the “burden” part to come later. At the moment i have called him ‘bovine cervidae’ but the plan is to make an anthropomorphized rider to sit on his back who of course is the true beast of burden- a human-like animal perhaps a little crazed looking… This work is my largest sculpture to date-110 x 145 x 150cm without rider. The goat head is a very old taxidermy home job with the original bones, teeth and tongue still in tact. I hope that the piece will retain that delicate balance of beauty and the groteseque when fully complete.
