I arrived back in Munich on Sunday evening after 3 months at the intense ceramic residency program in Netherlands followed by a much needed holiday comprising 3 days in London and 3 days in Paris. It was great to catch up with my UK and Europe based friends. I realised how much i miss them! It’s good to be reminded that i know such lovely people over on this side of the world should I ever decide to move here. and London and Paris, they really are magnificent cities.
My exhibition “Oma Rapiti” at Nopx in Turin, Italy has now finished and the works have been sent to a gallery in Vienna for an exhibition of winners of the 2012 “Its Liquid” international art prize. I won the painting and drawing section of this prize early last year but to this day am wondering if I actually “won” anything. The organisation offer a prize of free promotion through their website and an exhibition in Europe. The promotional material I sent in myself and they indeed published it on their site but the exhibition has just been cancelled at the last minute due to communication breakdown between Its Liquid and the gallerist in Vienna. This is very disappointing and unprofessional.
I have written to “Its Liquid” and am waiting to hear a reply. Hopefully they will compensate me for the inconvenience and expense of having my work sent back from Vienna and they ought to book another exhibition for the winning artists as that is really the only solid tangible part of the “prize”.
